NOMID Rash
This is what a NOMID rash can look like, especially during a flare up. Most people with NOMID that are not being treated with Anakinra (Kineret), or other effective treatments, have a rash almost always present, covering most of the body, and face. The rash can vary in size, number of eruptions, and intensity of redness. Flare ups of inflammation can be frequent, sometimes almost every other day. Along with increased rash, there is a usually a fever, along with any or all of the following: Extreme fatigue, headaches, joint and body pains, weakness and/or loss of functions, vision changes, conjunctivitis, vomiting, nausea, extreme thirst and irritability and increased or irregular lab values for inflammation. Skin biopsies often reveal an increased number of neutrophils near the eccrine coils in the skin.
